Hi Every One,
I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Amy Mundell in at this time I live in the South Eastern corner of Oregon. I have met a few people that are on here and hope to get too know the rest.
I will start off with what my foundation is. This would be what I liked to do and my interest lets say up until 8 years ago.
I come from a ranching/arena family. I was raised in Pleasant Grove California (just north of Sacramento). The me before my husband and kids team roped (head and heel) at least 3 times a week (my parents are roping producers), trained and sold horses, worked in town, took trips to Las Vegas, snowboarded, liked to go drinking and dancing, day worked, loved to rodeo, owned cattle, was a bartender, went out with the girls, dated here and there, and spent to much time up in an announcers booth crying out jackpot team ropings. And I don't miss announcing at all.
I have known my husband since we were around 19. He use too ride Saddle Bronc horses at CPRA when I was there Breakaway Roping. Years later I ran into him at a horse sale, and that's how I am now a wife and a mother of three.
We now live in Crane Oregon. We moved up here so that our kids could be raised in a small town. We had the two girls first and my husband wanted to live where he would know all the boys and their families. We use to own cattle and at least 15 head of horses at a time. But now with the horse market in the dumps we no longer run cattle and only have 4 horses. For many years we bought, trained and sold horses. We made a living at it. I guess we will have to wait for the market to come back up before we can do it full time again.
About two years ago I started to make wild rags for the public. I had always made them for my family and finally decided to try it as a business. My wild rags are now in 27 stores through out 7 states. I plan on marketing some this year in hopes of making it a part time job for myself. My web site is www.buckaroohorse.com.
I spend my day caring for the kids, house, livestock, and what ever else jumps at me. We try and ride everyday and I also sew a little each day. I love taking pictures and will be sharing them with you all.
Someday I hope to once again be able to have my own horse or two and go back to team roping. But for now I am happy helping my kids learn to ride, rope, and rodeo.
