great shot, lmullen...am thinking that that kind face will be sorely missed. How come all the good ones have to go first, anyways?

love,

Sorry to hear that, Lee... you're lucky when you get to keep one you like that long. Its a blessing to be able to share your life with a horse like that.

What a great picture to have. So obviously one of the "Good Ones".
It's pretty sad when playing God in their lives comes to doing what's necessary.
My condolences.

I'm sure he was met at the rainbow bridge with some of the best. RIP Snip

Sorry to about your loss. What a journey it must of been. I lost my good mare this spring, she was going to make a fine bridle horse for coming off the track, she was great on cattle. My thoughts & prayers are with you.

I guess we all must feel the same.

lee, when this happened to an old wrangler that worked for my dad, he did not talk for a while, then almost to himself, grieved, '' maybe we'll just send him ahead for to check things out for us ''.

And it's been a little while now,
since he met me in the pen.
go about my busy day,
yet
still I think of him.
Never thought the
time would come and
we'd have to say goodbye.
Wasn't he just a-standing there,
with his soft and steady eye?

For there was none quite like him.
He was sent for me alone. And I knew
where Snip was, surely was my home.

Now I have the photos...wrinkled, torn-
it seems a lot like me..and I wonder when that hole will heal
this parting's left in me

Ol' Snip and I, our times contained inside these tiny frames..
honored by the memories when he showed so much to me...be a horseman..
vaquero ways..to find myself..the gift he gave..taught "horse soul" to me.

When you look into my heart,
a part belongs to Snip.
We all take a special one, into our very
heart. And Snip I know, he felt the same
he was with me from the start.

So, as I ponder winter, the snow and soon more cold.
I'm glad that you have gone on up ahead, Snip,..to warm
heavens..a peaceful home.
For God he calls the ponies,
sometimes, he calls them first.

Wait for me as in days of old, when kindered, we roamed God's earth.
and gathered cattle, roped a few, pondered all the things unknown
after a day of long hot work, job well done, we loaded up for home.

I will meet you, there my friend, so, please,
let your soft eye search for me.
and in the by n' by, it's true, it is you I long to see.
Yes, I will humbly meet those kind eyes of yours,
as in our days gone by...

We'll bridle up again.
__________
love you, lee.

Lee, so sorry about your loss.

I had a good ol hoss named Snip too, took me from teenager to middle age, nobody could ask for a better one.

Thanks red for the poem, wasn`t able to keep a dry eye while reading it, even though I tried.

Every good horseman deserves at least one Snip in their lives.
