Hi all!

My husband has decided to sell one of his saddles, and I'm looking for ideas on the best way to market this saddle. Living in the east, the demand for well made wade tree saddles isn't as great as in other parts.

I'm planning to put an add in EH magazine and on the website. Any other suggestions? I don't want to do Ebay.

FYI...it's a 15 1/2" LJ saddle made by John Willemsma (sp?). Full Rough out. Plain Jane with no tooling. Barely used (probably less than 30 rides).

Thanks!

Try tacktrader.com

You might want ship it off (out west) to be consigned in one of the bigger saddle shops that specializes in that sort of saddle. I know Capriolas in Elko takes consignments.

hey KR...
you might want to contact "Lost Buckaroo" they handle allot of Willemsmas..and although I am not sure how they would work it, I know I saw a Robert Chavez saddle, a used one on that site, last year...you may want to take some flattering pictures of the saddle, and forward them along to Lost Buckaroo, and you may want to talk to John, himself..he may have some waiting time for a new saddle, and have someone that just can't wait, or have a waiting list assembled for folks who wish to purchase a used JW saddle..(Don't forget Brighton Saddlery..in Colorado, too) ..JW is a good-good saddle maker, and his plain Jane is perfect, you shouldn't have any trouble..make sure you are clear on the consignment fees, and figure in shipping...when addressing your bottom line..

KR: How much are you asking? Email me.... La.Vaquerita@yahoo.com if you don't feel like posting. I actually was looking for this exact saddle before I bought mine. I sure as heck wished you sold it sooner!

Ditto on what Red said.....................LJ, as we know him (long john) John Willemsma knows how to build a great saddle. I have known him since he was an apprentice saddle maker working in a shop in Burden, KS. You should have little trouble selling your saddle.

What tree is your saddle on? Maker? ( Warren Wright, Sonny Felcons, etc.) bar angle ( 90 or 93 degree, etc.)

Red:

I think Hubby bought it through Lost Buckeroo in Fall 2005. They are in CA and we are in PA. So I didn't want to ship back to them to consign, plus was hoping to sell it myself.

Thanks though.

The tree is a Hamley Wade. I'm not sure on the bars. I think 93 degree, but will check.
