you are getting your gear together that is for sure..what size are those beeeyoutiful things...I have some too, and I like mine leather lined, but they are a mere 3 and a half inches..I swear I wanted big ones, but, they just did not fit me right...still love the ones I got. gosh, dang I fergot how shiny they are when they are new..lol...bling...

good on you, T. Spirit...get them all set on your saddle, and then make us another picture...can't wait to see!!

Spinks, it sounds like we are s-o-l on the saddle, she is gonna keep it.

hey red, you are cracking me up! i'm not 100% on the saddle yet. this weekend is the test. i would want the stirrups anyway. and seeins' how i get to use the saddle as long as i want or sell for scott, or give back to him, gotta have somthing to put my feet in!

thanks on the stirrups. they are 3". my gosh, how on earth do you keep them from getting all scratched up and a mess. i better use them good this weekend. right now, when i walk past them, i stop to give them a quick shine. i'm absol. not kidding. i'll stop fretting over them when they have some wear.

i wanted to ride in them this morning. but my new english saddle came in yest. so i had to sit in that. no pic's sorry. it was bath day and organizing since leaving tonight for our big weekend of lessons, workshop and clinics!!! i will bring pic's back for all to see though.

this sat is going to be the first SOUTHEAST BUCKAROO ASSOCIATION workshop. soooooooo excited. dreading the heat. and praying that if we get rain. yes, we need it here in ga, that it's short and intermittant. with no thunder and lightening!

I think the ones that will be coming with my saddle are 3.5", but I got just the leather ones, I may have to get myself some shiney ones though :)

The workshop sounds like a lot of fun. Who all is going to be there?

hi wbl,

had my private tonight w/ my trainer scott. went pretty well. my stirrups are awsome. i LOVE them. very comfortable, and my foot stayed nicely placed.

i will take pic's tomorrow. i'm so excited about weekends activities i cannot sleep!

the workshop is organized and offered through a brand new organization in my area. its the SOUTHEST BUCKAROO ASSOCIATION. ck out www.sebuckaroo.com

since i was there tonight, i got to ride the ob. course. it was pretty awsome. i had my trainer and the ranch owner guiding me though. spirit and i pulled a log for the first time. spirit did awsome. i was very proud of him.
pretty proud of myself since i made it through all ob. tomorrow will be more difficult as i will be one of maybe 30 plus riders going one at a time being watched and judged.

wish me luck folks!

two more of the judges. it was so hot and humid here. i had to keep a hankie in my pocket to wipe the sweat from my brow. i never saw either of these two gentleman break a sweat. and look at all the clothes they have on. whew. i was impressed.

well, as you can see, my trainer was a bit more tough on me, b/c he knows what i can do. my mounting score is low b/c spirit took a couple of steps. he hasn't done that in months. i think he felt my nerves.

all in all, it was a blast. i just had the very best time.

and... i've never been happy w/ my hat. really wanted a flat hat. so, a friend told me i could shape it myself. and golly- i did last night when i got home. love my hat now! it was a great couple of days. aug 18th is a cowsorting workshop in conyers at the townsends ranch. i'm counting the days!

thank you francav! i'm happy b/c it was fun. but now know a lot of stuff to work on and improve on. but i have to tell you. just got home from the barn. and our ride this am was wonderful. rode english (new english saddle, only second ride in it) anyway- spirit moved out so nice. very quickly. he was much less pushy and much more soft. i was so so so happy. i am now seriously considering going to a "bigger" open hunter show in oct now. my pony is a different pony since i started this move into ranch and cow working. both of us are at our happiest doing it. i'm so thrilled!
