Horse owners seeking information on basic horse management will have an opportunity to attend an evening educational program focusing on just that. The program will be held on Thursday, March 29 from 6-8 p.m. at the Old Settlers Recreation Center located at 1201 E. Louisiana in McKinney, TX. McKinney is north of Dallas, TX. The program will focus on three topics: “Horse Basic Care”, “Horse Pasture Establishment and Management”, and “Horse Theft Awareness”. Speakers will include: Dr. Valerie Bixler (Local Veterinarian), Matt Mattox (Noble Foundation Forage Specialist) and Troy McKinney (Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Field Inspector). The Collin County Extension Horse Committee will sponsor the event, so there will be no cost to attend. One CEU will also be offered for those that have a pesticide applicators license.

Please call the Collin County Extension Office at (972) 548-4233 to pre-register for this event on or before Monday, March 26 so we can get a count on attendees to have adequate numbers of handouts and publications.
