Hi everyone again!

Wowee, I am snowed in. I have drifts of snow right up to my back door. However, I have been able to ride a bit. That's been nice.

Groundwork training has been going great. I got Brannaman's DVD for Xmas. But with my mare, I have sort of abandoned natural horsemanship saddle training with her. I am using the under saddle work instead for my squirrelly gelding. With my mare, she just doesn't have any forward to her when I am bending her all over. If I ride her straight and with light contact, she's not wobbly and she tracks like she's s'posed too. If we end up having issues down the road, I can implement it again, but classical training is working for us.

In other news, my little family is sad right now. Yesterday, we lost a dear member -- my seven year old Cairn Terrier, Andy. Some jerk hit him and drove off. I am so angry and sad I don't know what to say. I'll know it will get better but I know that fellow animal lovers understand how this is like losing a child.

Hope everyone is well and that they are surviving the winter! It's nice to be back.

Ash
