Phil was the real deal. You will know his work..stuntman for Clint Eastwood, and Clark Gable, but mostly you will know him because of his production/direction for the TV series
F Troop, High Chapperal, Fury Wendy & Me.. (the old TV comedy with George Burns, and Connie Stevens) movies like Gremlins, Star Trek, The Wind and the Lion tho his job was important, and wonderful, and with all of his success in the "movie world" he was a Cowboy to the Core, western all the way. Rode Good horses, knew good gear, and participated in Rodeos all his life. Recently won a Buckle in the Senior Calf roping..Phil had plans..just put up a new barn and bought a fancy new grey gelding. Death sorta snuck up on him..
This is the song his wife asked to be played..and it brought even the grownup weathered old cowboys to tears..so for my friend Fran, and her broken heart, the loss of Phil and the song that defined them, is just something I wanted to pass along.
Just for today...think about all that is dear to you, in Phils memory...

poem by Terry Clanton..

Let me tell you folks
Who have gathered here today
That I'm a proud and thankful cowboy
who has just passed away.
I know it's hard
But please don't cry
Fer I"m now ridin' God's trails
High up in the Sky.
The hoss I'm ridin now
Don't spook, buck or kick
Fer God stables perfect horses
An Now I have my pick.
I have lived the good life
A cowboys dream come true
Thank you Lord
For I'm now ready to ride to eternity
Me, my horse and You.

Of natural causes, at home, just where he should be.

love,

Will do, Red. Will do. :( To a good man who has passed, and those he has left behind - that they find peace in knowing that those lost are never truly gone. Whatever our belief or religion - we hold them in our hearts always. So sorry for your loss.

I have a few very ill family members that we might lose soon. So Life and Loss is on my mind alot these days.

I'll keep Phil and his family in my heart and prayers.

Love, Jessica
