“One Horse, One Rider, One Mind”

Bill Scott is a North Carolina horseman and clinician with an increasingly dedicated following. But Bill never envisioned himself conducting horsemanship clinics. Descending from a family deeply rooted in the livestock industry, he became an accomplished farrier, with clients around the US and abroad.  He was not just successful in his ability to shoe horses, but also in his ability to work quietly and successfully with difficult horses, without ever resorting to excessive restraint or sedation. His farrier clients witnessed his mental connection with horses and wanted to know more, so they asked Bill for help on his few days off. Eventually, Bill cut back on his farrier work and started offering formal horsemanship clinics, and his sideline grew into a busy clinic schedule through out the Southeast.

“Listen to the horse, don’t command them. Be a leader, not a dictator” says Bill, whose presence and gentle manner are inspiring. His communication with the horse is subtle and produces an alliance based on rock solid mutual respect.  His philosophy of how people approach their relationship with their horse could apply to life in general. More than one clinic auditor has commented that his clinics could be a course in people management in business.
